AutumnTree

Instead of looking to see what is under the Christmas tree what would it be like to get something under the Autumn tree?

Would you have a bountiful of food on the table with many presents? What kind of presents would be under the tree?

I would want my tree to have presents that I can share with others. The Lord has blessed me with more than I really need.

I have a roof over my head, food on the table plus family and friends who love me. It would be great to share those blessings with others.

Tomorrow when I am sharing my Thanksgiving feast with my family I will be thinking about ways to share this season with others. I will start by praying God's blessings to all.

Happy Thanksgiving.

Sneaks, Center of Attention

Today as we met at one of our member's home, Sneaks the cat made his present known. Aloft the top of his perch he watched as each member of MCC Writer's Group enter into his domain. He was the center of attention for a short while. than we got down to business conducting the meeting. Sneaks realizing he in no longer the center of attention sneaks off.

As soon as I enter my door to my abode my cat demanded to be the center of attention. Rubbing against my legs and purring he nearly knocks me over. Once I give him what he wants he sneaks off.

Being the center of attention is something we all long for at some point of time in our lives. It is the feeling of being loved and accepted that we long for each day. Sometime we sit aloft watching and waiting. When will that person notice me?

God also want to be our center of attention. He must wonder sometimes when we will notice Him in our daily lives. When we do give Him our attention He will not sneak off like the cats. He stays by us and gives us the love we seek.

Today and each day I will do my best to make God the center of my attention.

Eager To Learn

Today as I made my way down the path I ran into a young mother and child. As the child approached me the mother was quick to tell her not to talk to strangers. She apologized to me and sent her daughter up the path to her father.

The mother stayed behind when she notice that I was taking pictures of the many birds that were out on the path. She started asking questions, many questions. For the next few hours she seemed eager to learn about the many birds that makes this park their home.

When it was time to part she seemed to want to hang on. She wanted to know more. But I had to go.

There are time that when I listen to a sermon at church that I want to know more. I am eager to learn about my God. Like this young mother I want to hang on. But I have to go.

I am so glad that I have the Bible. There in the pages I can quench my eagerness to learn more.

Share The Path

The sign said share the path. The squirrel seems to be saying don't forget about all us creatures. We are on the path as well.

I watch as the joggers and bikers fly by almost running over the squirrels and birds, sometime almost running into others who are there just to enjoy the park.

How many times in my life have I run over or push people aside to get to my destination? I need to share the path. I need to step aside, slow down and enjoy this life that God has given to me.

Walking On Water

It seemed like this duck was trying to show off to the other duck by walking on water. Of course he doesn't need to walk on water since he is quite able to swim.

There are times that I wish I could do something as unusual as walking on water. I would feel special and unique. But God did not create me to walk on water.

What God created me to do was to serve and bring His light into this world. I can do this by my pictures, friendships and prayers. When I pray for you, I am bringing a little in hope for answers. When I offer my friendship, I am helping in your burdens. When I share my pictures, I am hoping you can smile and feel your spirit lifted.

I may not be able to walk on water. But what I can do for God and you can be just as amazing.

Veteran's Day

Today I got to witness two rare sightings. One is this brown creeper. This bird is very hard to find. He also moves around the trees so quickly that it is hard to get a good picture. I must have taken twenty to thirty pictures before I could get one worth sharing.

Later as my husband and I went out to eat. I got to witness a room full of veterans eating and swapping stories of the old days. As I looked about the room I could only think how rare this was to be able to share a meal with the men and women who has made their sacrifice for our country.

As we enter the restaurant there were greeters there to say thank you to the veterans. I want to send out my gratitude as well. Happy Veteran's Day to you all and may God bless you.

Buried In The Sand

I was amused to see this squirrel bury a peanut in the sand. The tide was down for now but soon it would rise to cover the peanut. I threw another peanut out and this time he took it to a pile of leaves to bury it. A third peanut was buried under a bush. It was though he knew he had to spread the treasures to assure that he would have food throughout the winter months ahead.

It was like he had heard the old adage about not putting all your eggs in the same basket. By spreading his wealth he will have some for those rainy days.

I am glad that I have a Savior who sees me through the winters of life and helps me during my rainy days. I do not have to bury my treasures in the sand only to have the tide come in and take it away. My treasures are safe in my Savior.

Wonderfully Made

Everything that God has created is wonderfully made. From the smallest flower to the tallest mountain there is no mistake in the purpose of each existence. I love taking in the wonders of it all.

I have been blessed being able to travel to the many parks and landmarks of our country. It makes me proud to be an American. The diversity of this great land landscape is mind-boggling.

I find myself in awe at the goodness of God. Knowing that I am part of His creation helps me to see His love for me. I am wonderfully made. Thank you Lord.

Waiting For My Ship To Come In

It feels like I am always waiting for my ship to come in and it never does. It just passes me by as I sit by the dock hoping it will stop. I wonder if I am ever going to climb on board and set off for places unknown.

Would I even recognize the ship as being the one I should board? Most likely I would not. That is why I need to look to God for direction. With His help I can get on board the ship He has sent for me.

When I am seeking His guidence and will for my life, I can see clearly the path He has chosen for me. When my ship comes in, I go boldly to the edge of the dock and jump on.

The Colors Are In

All you have to do is just look all around you to see that the colors of Autumn has arrived. But no matter how many pictures I take it just does not show how brilliant the colors are. The colors in every tree, bush and plants are calling out the change of season.

One thing about Autumn is that it passes by so quickly. It seems that the minute you begin to get accustom to the colors they fade away and fall to the ground. The trees become barren and dormant.

Yet the colors are still there waiting. Winter will arrive follow by Spring and than Summer. Before you know it those specks of color start showing up again.

The colors are in. Each day I will take in the glory of God's colors. I don't want to miss one moment.

Blind In One Eye

You would not have guessed that this squirrel is blind in one eye. He acted the same way as all the other squirrels. He could climb, jump and beg for peanuts with the best of them. It isn't until he turned his head that you notice that there was something different about him. He has learned to deal with his limitation.

We all have limitations. Some of use are not only blind in one eye, but we can not see out of the other as well. It is how we deal with our limitations that make us stronger.

Limitations can hold us back from doing the best that God has for us. Yet if we allow God to work through our limitations we become strong in His strength. Our limitations can no longer deter us from receiving His grace.

I am over fifty, wear glasses and suffer from many limitations. Yet I feel I can do all thing through the help of God. With Him there is no limitations.
