Blue Bird Waiting

As my grandson and I walked down the boardwalk, an Eastern bluebird flew up from the ground on to the fench. We stopped walking and I took several pictures. He did not seemed to be afraid as we got closer and closer. He seemed to be waiting.

Was he waiting for me to get the perfect shot? Maybe he was waiting for a dragonfly to fly near. Could he just have been resting, waiting to regain some enery to fly again? Whatever the reason, I am glad he was waiting.

Many times I just sit and wait. There are times that I do not even know what I am waiting for. But I do know that when I wait on the Lord, He always takes care of me. I need not be afraid.

So like the waiting blue bird, I will wait. God takes care of him and provides all he needs. I know that God will take care of me as well.

Frog Escape

Today, I decided to check on a goose nest. I have been waiting for the little ones to hatch. Today was not the day.

As I made my way to the nest, I notice a snake near the water edge. The head of the snake was hidden, so I put my camera on the tail and followed it up to where the head should be. Just As I got to the spot, he struck. It happened so fast that I was not sure what he just got.

It was a frog. The fight was on. I kept trying to snap some pictures of the drama that was going on before my eyes. The problem, they were moving too fast for my camera to get any good shots. I kept snapping away and got at least one picture.

The good news the frog got away.

Life is like that. In a flash the fight is on. The good news. We have a God who helps us get away. We do not have to fight the battle alone.

One Of Those Days

Have you had one of those days that things just do not seem to go right for you right from the get go? Well, that seemed to be the case for my husband.

First thing this morning, before I had the chance to leave the house for church, I got a phone call. My husband ask if I could find his brown shoe and bring it with me.

"Why?" I ask.

"Because I need it." He said.

"Why?" I asked again.

"Because I have two different color shoes on. I must have been a sleep when I put my shoes on this morning." He replied.

So, I found his brown shoe and brought it to church. You know me, I had to take a picture. I am not letting him live this down.

We all have those kinds of days. It is nice to know that there are people in our lives who we can call to help us out. Of course they might get a good laugh out of our situation. Yet, they still come to our rescue.

Acts Of Kindness

Today I was surprised by an act of kindness. While checking out at a pet store, the clerk asked if I had a rewards card. I did not, so the man behind me offered to let me use his card. He saved me twelve dollars on my purchase.

At Christmas time, I got off from work to find a card on my windshield. When I opened it up, there was a five dollar bill inside. No one signed it. It was a act of kindness from a stranger. I will never know who did this, but it did brightened up my day.

I tried once many years ago to brighten up a friend in secret. She made home made Easter candy for her children and hide it in the oven, Her husband turn the oven on not knowing that the candy was inside and melted it into one big glob of chocolate.

After she told me about it, I got my cousins to help me out and we each brought in candy to church the next morning and places them in bags for her three sons. We did not leave any names, just our love and prayers. She did figure it out later.

With all the news about wars and killings it is nice to know that there are people out there who are willing to still do random acts of kindness. I plan on trying everyday.

It Is All About Trust

When my grandson and I head to the Mariner to feed the squirrels, it is fun to watch that interaction between them. It is all about the trust the squirrels has toward us. They know our voice and are use to us having a treat for them.

The trust did not come right away though. The squirrels kept their distance for awhile. It was through patience and being still that they soon learn that is was safe to come close to us.

God is like that with us. He knows that we do not always trust. But He is patient with us. Even if it takes a lone while to take that first step, He will be still and let us come to Him. He is waiting.

It is all about the trust. Who will you trust in today?
