Swan Fever
I admit it. I have swan fever. I can not help it. I must pass by the marsh everyday in the hope that they will make a showing. I was not disappointed tonight. There they were, gliding by the edge of the marsh.
The babies are only three months old now. Look how big they are. The other parent was just several feet away, watching over his pride and joy. I will hate it when the swan children leave this place. It has been a blessing for me to watch them grow.
It only took ten years of visiting the marsh to get to watch the swans finally have little ones and see them grow into these find creatures. Ten years from now, I will still be watching.
Why? Because I have swan fever.
The cure. I do not want to be cured. I love this fever.

Sun Burst Web
One morning i wanted to show my husband another path I like to take at Harford Glen. The sun was shining brightly and reflecting off the many spider webs we came across. This made it easy to get some great shots of sun burst on the weds.
This got me to thinking. What do other see when God's sunlight shine on me? Do they see a burst of His light reflecting off me? I would like to think that my life burst out so brightly that other are drawn to God's love.
I know that I am not perfect. But, God is perfection. So, just as He made the sun burst His wonders on this spider web, He also makes His light burst over me and hides my imperfections.
What a wonderfully, forgiving God we have.

Finally, A Humming Bird
All summer I have been trying to catch a humming bird. The problem. I have not seen any. This pas Sunday, I notice people posting sunflowers on Facebook. Broom Bloom here we come.
As soon as we headed there, a storm rolled in and the rain poured down. We got inside the ice cream shop without getting too wet. So, we got our ice cream, got a seat outside and waiting out the storm. When the rain finally stopped, we headed out into the sunflower field.
I had always wanted to get some shot of sunflowers dripping with dew drops. I was not disappointed.
While my husband and I were focusing our camera on the dew drops, I notice a small bird flying around. The sparrows were everywhere enjoying the sunflowers. But this bird was very small. So, I set my sight on getting him. After many tries, I got just one. Finally, I got a humming bird.
Another storm was rolling in. So, we decided to pack it up and head home. Today was a good day. I got my sunflowers with dew drops, eat some great ice cream and got my humming bird. Finally!

King Bird Focus
Most of the time when I stop by the marsh, my focus is on the seeing the swans or looking for the herons. I forget that there are many other birds that call this place their home, like this king bird. Not only birds can be spotted, but muskrats, snakes, turtles and fishes of many kinds.
Than you got your insects, like butterflies, bees and dragonflies just to name a few. Of course, the plants can be a sight to behold as well. The marsh is a smorgasbord of activities, which keeps me coming back day after day.
But this day, my focus was redirected to this king bird I just happened to come upon as I made my way to catch a better shot of the herons. He turned his head to the right, the left and than faced me, so that I could get several good pictures. It was like he was posing just for me.

Magnified Fries
The other day I took lunch to a friend who had surgery on her foot. She wanted a juicy hamburger, fries and a large soda. Since I try my best to stay away from fast food due to the calories and carbs, I decided to get a kids meal.
Boy was I shocked to see how small the fries were. I needed to magnify these just to see how many there were inside the wee little tiny box.
I heard on the radio we need to magnify God. Now, I thought to myself, "How do you magnify God? Isn't He already as big as He can big? How can you make him any bigger?"
Than I realize that when I magnify God, I are getting a better picture of who He is. He is bigger than life. He is bigger than all my problems. He is bigger than anything that I face in my life.
When I magnified the picture of my box of fries, I got a better look at what I got. 110 calories of pure fats. It was with pleasure that I got to have lunch with my friend. Eating the wee little tiny box of fries was just right. I did not need to eat anymore.
God gives me all I need, even if I have to magnify things just to see.

The Chase
The chase is on. The fox is a good six yards ahead of the pack. Oh, wait a minute. These are just bushes shaped like there is a fox hunt in progress. What is even funnier, is that the fox bush that is a few yards away has a bunny sitting in its shade and a mocking bird on its head.
Life is kind of funny in the same way. At first glance, we see the drama that looms ahead only to discover that it is just something that we made up in our mind. It is not real. We tend to blow life circumstances up to a scary conclusion, that we run from it in fear.
We should be like the bunny and rest in the knowledge that it is not that scary. Or, we can be like the mocking bird and poke fun at it and land on life's head. I think, I will be like the mocking bird.
There is so many thing in life I keep on chasing and there are many thing that keep chasing me. Whatever the case, I know where my refuge comes from. I can rest at the feet of Jesus.

Something Pretty
Today, I just wanted to post something pretty. This purple flower meets this goal. While purple is not my favorite color, I do like the way this flower looks. The yellow in the center is a good accent to the whole of the plant.
God created everything to serve a purpose. There are things that I can not fathom why, like poison ivy, cockroaches and buzzards. It is not for me to question why. I do not need to know the reasons.
I just need to enjoy the things that God puts in my path like my family, friends and all of his creations that I love to take pictures of, just like this purple flower. I hope you get to enjoy something pretty today.

Butterfly Garden
On Sunday we took our grandson to a nature birthday party for one of his classmate. After they showed off some of the animals, took a nature hike and enjoyed some pizza and cake, we went into the butterfly garden.
In on of the display there were many cocoons. This butterfly had just emerged about an hour earlier and was ready to be released. It was not a big place, but I learned a lot there. There was a couple there to explain what was going on and help identify the different butterflies.
Of course there were just as many butterflies flying outside as well. I wanted to stay, because one of the caterpillar looked like it was getting ready to spin its own cocoon. It would have taken too long and it was just too hot outside. It was time to go home.
All in all my grandson had a good time at the party and I had a good time at the butterfly garden. It was a good day
