Today as I start my new year, I had to go to my favorite place. With peanuts and bird seeds in hand, I search the trees and bushes for my critter friends. This downy woodpecker seems to know that I come with a treat. He seems to be asking, "Where are the peanuts?"
He was not the only friend looking for the peanuts. The nut-hatched, chickadee, titmouse and a few squirrels came looking for their share. There were several other birds going after the seeds I put on the poles. Even the brown creeper made a showing.
I love visiting my friends and they love the gifts I bring. Where are the peanut? They are in my bag and ready for each and everyone who seeks to get a bite, just like this woodpecker.
