Great Breakfast

Every Thursday morning a dear friend and I have breakfast at Ihop. The meal is always the same. Marcy gets the two by two plate. It consist of two pancakes, two crispy bacon and two scrambled eggs. I just get two pancakes with no butter.

Today they out did themselves and cooked everything just right. It made my mouth water just looking at the plate. I was tempted but stuck with my pancakes.

Even if the meal was not perfect Marcy and I would still go there. The service is great, the waitress is the best and I enjoy the company too much.

So until next Thursday I will enjoy this picture of a great breakfast and a great morning.

Note: That is Marcy holding the plate.

A Good Deed

Yes we got more snow. Winter just does not want to go away. I was happy to see when I left work tonight that we did not get a whole lot of snow.

As I made my way to my car to clean off my windows I notice that someone had already clean them. It was a nice surprise. It turned out that one of my co-worker's husband cleaned them while waiting for us to get off of work. A good deed.

I thank the Lord for the people in my life. I thank Him also for the people who do good deeds without seeking rewards. I want to be like my friend's husband and carry on doing good deeds.

The Coot Surprise

Today as I sat watching the birds at the Bel Air pond before heading to work I notice a young couple get out of their car with several bags filled with bread scraps. As they made their way to the pond the geese, seagulls and ducks made a mad dash to the shore. They knew that soon they would be getting food.

What surprised me was that the coots were heading for the shore as well. This was a change for them. They usually head away when people show up. But they have learn by example from the other fowls what it takes to get food.

When I think about the church I wonder if we are being a good example of a place for others to come to receive God's blessings. When other see us heading into church do they want to come along?

I hope that when the coots of my life see me relying on God for my blessings that they follow me and receive more then they could ever hope for.

Rainbow Fountain

At the industrial pond in Edgewood I have been trying to catch some good shots of the birds. But it is just not happening. I can not get close enough.

So last week I was sitting watching the birds but not really taking any pictures. The fountains were running. It has been awhile since they have been. Out of no where the winds began to blow and caused the water to spray one way enough to cause me to see a hint of a rainbow.

I knew it was God. He was telling me not to give up hope. So I will keep trying. Maybe tomorrow I will get that shot.

Skipping Stone

Today my husband, grandson and I went to visit Eden Mill Nature Center. It was an opportunity to show my grandson how the mill works and get a better understanding about some of the creatures.

As we headed down to the dam my husband could not resist and tried his hands at skipping stones. After a couple of failures he got the hang of it and sent the stone across the stream.

It got me to thinking about how the simple things in life can give you pleasure. God has given us this planet to enjoy and we spend our time working ourselves to the grave.

I want to remember this day and the fun we had. I want to go back and try my hand at skipping stones.

Wired Birds

I always wonder how the birds can land on these wires and not get electrocuted. Yet everyday they fly from wire to wire and live to fly again.

I wonder about a lot of things. There are many things I will never understand. Yet everyday I get up and fly around to live another day.

I don't have to understand why these birds don't get fried. But that is okay. All I have to do is enjoy them and trust God.

A New Follower

Today I got a new follower. Each time I go to the Mariner I put bird seeds and peanuts on the post and wait for the birds to come. As I move along the birds follow me from tree to tree. This was the first time that this woodpecker joined the other birds.

You never know who you might get to follow along as you go through life. The importing thing is that you are not leading others in the wrong direction.

I seek to live my life following Jesus. My desire is that others like what they see and seek to follow Jesus as well. Jesus always welcomes a new follower.

One Sign of Spring

Everyone knows that when we see robins all over the place that it is a sign of Spring. Yet to me seeing the Ospreys on their nest is one special sign for me. I know that without a doubt that Spring is just around the corner.

With the return of the Ospreys I can expect to see, feel and hear the sounds of Spring. I know this year I will welcome the warmer weather with wide open arms.

The Ospreys are for me the first welcome sign of Spring.

Look Up

I wonder if these birds knows who lives up there? I can imagine one saying to the other. "All you have to do is look up and our Creator will pour down all kinds of blessings."

And the other one saying, " I know everyday I look up, ask and He gives me more than I can use."

God loves to pour out His blessings on us each day. When we look up, ask He gives us more than we can use.

It is in the simple act of looking up towards heaven, asking for His love that we can know He will provide all that we ask according to His will. All our needs are met is in the loving hands of a loving God.

I will always look up.

Just a Sparrow

Each time I go out walking the nature's trail I come across many types of sparrows. They are always digging underneath the bushes looking for bugs. They are everywhere. But they are so darn cute.

I know they are not as interesting as hawks, eagles, and herons. They don't swim like ducks, geese and swans. Yet they have their own personality.

God cares about them. So do I. Even though today the picture I choose to put up is just a sparrow, this one is one of the cutess one I have seen. And that makes it worth putting up.

Windy Day

Today sure was a windy day. The birds had a hard time flying. The one thing I did notice was that when the birds would reach a certain height they would flow with the wind instead of flying against the wind. The wind guided them along the sky.

When I face windy days in my life I tend to fight. I am determine to have it my way and the winds get in my way. It is only when I allow the winds to guide me that I can make any headway with my life.

God is my wind. He is my source for all things in life. Yet I am constantly fighting His guidance. I need to allow God's wind to direct me. Than I can flow along the sky without any effort.

Refreshed

Have you ever notice that after a good rain the plants looks refresh? What was once drooping with thirst is revived with water. The down pour washes all the dirt from the leaves and petals. The plants once again stands tall and strong.

When the rains comes I tend to run undercover. I hate getting wet. Yet if I allow the rain to fall on me I do find it actually feels good. It somehow cleanses and refreshes me. I feel brand new.

Each day I need to remind myself that the rains and the sun works together for my good. With the water of life and the rays of light I am renewed. I thank God for the rain and the sun. Without God I would wither and droop to the ground. Without God I could not be refreshed or stand tall and strong.

Butterfly Garden

I love going to butterfly gardens. Not only do I love the butterflies I love the flowers and plants as well. All the colors and patterns makes me send up praises to God for His creations.

I must look like a crazy woman racing after the butterflies trying to snap some pictures. Yet I know that any pictures that I take can not begin to show the real beauty that my eyes behold.

Heaven must be like that. Everyone can write about the beauty of it but it is only when I get to see it with my own eyes will I really see the splendor.

Until that day comes, I will enjoy the beauty here on earth and keep snapping pictures.

Kid at Heart

I love working at my job because I am just a kid at heart. It also feels good that my co-workers knows that and made me wear this crown and carry a balloon around.

Birthdays are all about having fun. It is a time of reflections and looking forward to another year. As you get older the reflections grows larger.

The one thing I always reflect on is how much God has seen me through. Without Him in my life would worthless. I am blessed with great friends, family and a fun life. I am glad I get to be a kid at heart another year.

Reach Out

How far does this squirrel have to reach out before he can touch the ground? Too far. The ground is beyond his reach. Yet he stills gives it his best shot.

How often do we try to reach beyond our capabilities to obtain a goal? We stretch and stretch and never touch the ground.  All our efforts are in vain.

Yet if we reach out to God, He brings us to the ground. So today I will stretch out my hands towards heaven and let God bring me down safely.

Enjoying the Snow

While sitting in the car talking with a friend at church a Eastern Bluebird landed on a snow bank by the road. He seemed to enjoy hoping around on the snow. I enjoyed watching.

I know that there in more snow on the way. I dread it because I can't seem to find any reason to enjoy the snow. Snow conjure feelings of me being trapped.

But I do remember as a child enjoying sledding, building forts and having snow fights with my brothers and sister. Those were the good days.

There is more snow coming. Maybe tomorrow I will find a way to enjoy the snow.

Spring! Where Are You?

Spring! Where are you? I am done with winter. But I hear winter is not done with me. There is another storm on its way. I want to see color again. I want to see flowers, butterflies and sunny days. I want to not have to bundled up and freeze to death when I go outside. How much longer must I wait?

This has been a hard winter. One good thing I can say about it is that I will enjoy spring and summer much more this year. It takes enduring hard times to appreciate the good times.

So as I prepare for the next snow storm, I will dream of the good times to come. Spring hurry on and get here soon.
