Elk Sigthing

As we leave Jackson I wanted to share another great sighting. There were many opportunities to get photos of elk. But this one place had the many elks to shoot. I can't wait to share the many other photos. But for today I leave you with this one. God Bless.

Goodbye Coast

After a evening by the fire on the beach and  a view of a sunset we say goodbye to the Oregon beaches. From one coast to the other I have witness God's splendors. Oregon was an adventure, one I hope to see again.

Seal's Rock

Today we got to go to seal cave. What a sight it was to see the many seals resting on the rocks inside and outside the caves.
Once again God has blessed us. I am just in awe at the God's creations. It was a blast watching the seal interact with each other.
I have taken over 1000 pictures. Of course only about one tenth of them are any good. But the memories will last a long time.
Tomorrow we head to California to visit the Red Woods. Can't wait.

A Whale's Tail

Here on the first day by the ocean on our next journey of our vacation we get to witness a whale swimming. God has blessed us with so many wonderful sightings. But this takes the cake.
Marge did good in the planning of this great vacation. She truly can multi tasks as evidenced in this picture as she talks on the phone, takes a picture and directs Donnie.
Of course Elephant is enjoying the many perks of this vacation. She may not want to go back home.
I know there are many more exciting days to comes. I can't wait.

Connecting

Here we are in Baker City, Oregon. I finally got to connect with one of my long lost cousin. We spent two days sight seeing with his family. What a blast we had. I will never forget it and now have great relatives to keep in contact with.
You never know what lies ahead in life and the people that God brings into your life.  Sometime you hit it off and there are times that it just does not work out. This is one of those time that we hit it off. I hope that we can get together again.
Not only was our time great we got to see many great sites and got some great pictures, this deer being one of them.
When ever we go on vacation with my cousins from New York there is always great things to catch on camera. This time is no exception.

Day 3 Vacation 2012

It is the third day of vacation. We are now at the Crystal Inn at Brigham City, Utah. We drove 12 hours to make it here. Well I should say that my cousins drove 12 hours. It is beautiful country and we took many pictures.
One was this side of a mountain that kind of looks like a face. What do you think?
We will be up early again tomorrow and head to Baker City, Oregon. That is when the real site seeing is going to happen. I can't wait. Until than off to bed for a good night sleep.

2012 Vacation, Day 2

Believe it or not we are in York, Nebraska. It only took 14 hours. But we are here safe and sound. We did hit one rain storm. No tornado.
Elephant is enjoying the hotels and ride, no complaining from her. As you can see she has claimed her bed for each night.
Tomorrow will be another early wake up and more traveling. this time only a 12 hour drive. But it will be worth it when we get to Oregon.

Day 1 Vacation

We got an early start and we are here in Ohio staying at a Hotel 6 in Willoughby. The ride to Niagara Falls was uneventful and we made good time. This picture was taken somewhere else but I pretty much have all the same things. I never go anywhere with out my elephant pillow or my camera. These will be my trademarks throughout this vacation. I hope to bring great pictures and stories of God's wonders throughout the next two weeks. I can't wait to see what God has in store for me and my cousins.

Inverted Colors

I like fooling around with the photo programs and trying different things on my pictures. One of the thing you can do is invert the colors of the picture. It is kind of a cool effect.
Only if it was just this simple to change our appearance. Just hit some buttons and create a new person. But it is not, so I make do with the person that God created.
I can change how I view things. I can allow God to help me see things the way He wants me to. Through His eyes I can see the inverted colors of my thoughts, dreams and hope. With His help I can like the person that I see in the mirror each day even when I do not like my appearance. Because God see the inverted me and smiles down on the many colors of me.

Orange Flowers

I don't know when I started liking orange flowers but I find that they seem to make great pictures. There is something about the color orange that gives me a good feeling inside. It is so vibrant  and demands your attention. It stands out in a way that you can not miss it.
I would like to think that my life stands out in a way that is vibrant and strong for God. I don't want people to miss the good things that only comes from God, like orange flowers. So I will continue my walk, bloom where I am planted and share God's wonders with the world.

Where the Buffalo Roam

Where the buffalo roam is a place that I will get to see in a weeks time. Yellowstone National Park is just one of the places that I will get to see this summer. I can not think of a more beautiful place to visit. Each time that I visit there I am always in awe of the sites that declares there is a God. Only God could create such beauty.
I hope to do it honor as I seek to capture the park's story in pictures. I also hope through the pictures to show God's glory. I will give it my best effort.

Gorilla Cloud

When ever I can I try to find a picture in the clouds. So what do you think? Does this one look like a gorilla?
I think it does, one with a Bennie hat. Of course I see animals in just about anything.
I enjoy watching the clouds change into the many shapes as they pass by. Of course they can change from white fluffy clouds one moment to black storm clouds the next.
I find that I am a lot like clouds. I can be nice one minute and ruthless the next. I let the circumstances around me control my actions. It is only when I allow God to control me that I am able to stay fluffy.

Hitching a Ride

One morning I came out to find this grasshopper sitting on the hood of my car. Of course I had to take his picture. When I got into the car and started the engine I expected the grasshopper to jump off. But he did not. In fact he stayed on the car for quite awhile. I thought he decided to go to work with me. Right before I got to my job he jumped off. He was just hitching a ride.
There are times we need to hitch a ride with God on our way through life highways. When we allow God to drive us to our destination we know we will arrive safely. I am glad to know that God is always willing to pick me up.

Fireworks

This past fourth of July I set my camera up to take what I hope would be some great shot of the fireworks. I didn't get the shots that I was after but I do like some of the effects I was able to get.
When we don't get what we had hoped for we can always make what we got work. Kind of like making lemonade out of lemons.
I hope that what ever I try in life I will always see the good that God has for me. Even in the fireworks.

Bald Bird

I thought only an eagle carried the bald name. That was until I saw this cardinal that was bald. This bald cardinal was kind of scary looking.
It is hard to say why the cardinal has no feathers on his head. Did he pull it out on his own because of stress? Was he involved in some kind of fight? Maybe he was just shedding his feathers so the new ones could grow. Whatever the reason he still carried on living his life.
There are times that the stresses of life makes me want to pull out all my hair. The battles that I face make me lose more of my hair each day. It seems it is just a matter of time and I will be bald also.
I need to look to the One who know even the numbers of hairs on my head. When I turn to God He helps me to face the stresses that makes me want to pull out every strain of hair. God sees me through the hard times and the good times. With His help I will carry on living my life like the bald cardinal.

Sticking Your Neck Out

As I watched this green heron hunt for his next meal I was shocked to see how far he was able to stick his neck out. I knew they had long neck. But this was the longest I have seen.
I can see where it can come handy for the heron. All he has to do is watch and wait for his meal and with a quick motion stretch his neck out and catch his prey.
I wonder how far I will stick my neck out. What do I want so bad that it will cause me to go into action. What ever it may be I pray that God will give me the strength and a strong neck to do the job.

Fire Works

Tomorrow we as a Nation will celebrate our independence from England. There will be activities all about town ending with fire works. I will be working.
Even though I will be working I will be thinking about what this day means. I will be thankful for the price that was paid for our freedom. I will thank God that I am an American.

Picture Perfect

Every time that I go out walking I am in search of the perfect picture. It seems that I am not the only one. Every where I go there are always someone else carrying a camera. We compare pictures and talk about the perfect shot.
Yet we find that we cannot ever make the pictures we take perfect. There is always some kind of flaw in them.
My life is like that. No matter how hard I try to make it perfect I always find some flaws. I do my best to cover it up. It may look great to those looking at my life. But I know where all the flaws are.
It is good to know that Jesus has made me perfect in His eyes. To Him I am picture perfect.
