Chocolate Bunnies

These two little bunnies caught my eye as they came out of the woods looking for food. They did not know I was there until I started to left my camera up to take a picture of the double bunnies. Of course as soon as I moved to get a better shot, they were gone,

Every Easter, I enjoy the sweetness of chocolate bunnies. That is why I decided to make this picture chocolate color. I love candy. I love sweets of any kind. Too much of them makes me ill though. I have learned to ration the amount of candy and other sweets I eat.

Over  the past two year I have slowly lost over 60 pounds. It has not been easy. I got a long way to go to reach my goal, By taking it one day at a time and picking myself up when I fail, I will get to my ideal weight. It may take a couple of more years. But that is alright.

Tomorrow, I will enjoy my chocolate bunnies. I will enjoy celebrating Easter with my family. But most of all, I will enjoy life because Jesus is alive.

Nature Loving Senior

Today as I took my walk at the Mariner, I came across an unusual sight. A group of senior citizens were making their way around the park. Of course I had to engaged them in conversation.

It turned out that they had come from the Parkville's senior center. They travel around to visit the different parks because they love being out in nature. My kind of people.

I wanted so bad to walk around with them. They were a lively group who seemed to enjoy just being together. But I had to leave to go to work.

On my way to work, I got to thinking. I turned sixty this week. So that makes me a nature loving senior also.

A Little Goofy

Sometimes we just need to act or look a little goofy. We just can not take life so seriously all the time. That is why I like to take my nature walks as much as I can.

God reminds me of this, when I see something goofy looking in a tree or with some silly acts of his creatures. One example: I love it when I put peanuts out for the birds and squirrels. I laugh at the act of one squirrel trying his best to put as many peanuts in his mouth as he can only to have them fall out as he makes his get away.

I need though times of laughter to keep me from falling into depression. Laughter is the best form of medicine to lift you up and shine a little light in those deep days.

It does help out when I go to Girl's Night Out at church or have a lunch date with some of my silly friends. Having good friends is another form of medicine in times of sorrow or trials.

The best source of medicine is turning to God. When I am walking around enjoying His creations, He always throws in something a little goofy. He is my laughter and light when I feel sadden by life's pain.
