Cool Blue Jay

There is one bird that I can count on seeing at the Mariner. Long before I see one , I can hear their many varieties of vocal calls. They are one of the first bird to sound the alarm when a hawk is nearby.

When I throw out peanuts for the squirrels, you can count on the blue jays darting to the ground to swoop up one. They are quit aggressive when it comes to claiming that one peanut for themselves.

One thing I have not be able to do, is locate one of their nest. This is one of my mission this spring. In the mean time, I will enjoy seeing these cool blue jays and watching their antics.
